ALIK, AMBASSADOR-DESIGNATE OF FEDERATED STATES OF MICRONESIA

Excellency,
I am pleased
to receive the Letter of Credence of your appointment as the first Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federated States of Micronesia
to India. Accept, Excellency, my hearty congratulations and best wishes
for the success of your mission in strengthening the ties between our
two nations. I also take this opportunity to convey warm greetings to
His Excellency Leo A. Falcam, President of the Federated States of Micronesia
and its friendly people.
India values
its close and friendly relations with the Federated States of Micronesia.
I am confident that Your Excellency’s appointment would provide further
impetus to translate our mutual desire for friendship into concrete and
enduring co-operation.
Independent
India has made considerable progress in diverse fields of economic development.
India would be happy to share her experience and expertise with the Federated
States of Micronesia. Human resource development and institution building
could be an important avenue of our co-operation. I am glad to note that
Federated States of Micronesia had availed all the fifteen scholarships
provided under Indian Technical and Economic Co-operation Programme and
under the Special Fund for Technical Co-operation created for Pacific
Island Countries. I am sure that the trainees who received their training
at Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI) would have found their stay in
India both interesting and useful. India would be happy to receive more
students and trainees from your country and to offer co-operation in other
fields such as small and medium scale, cottage and village industries
or any other identified areas to match our capacities and your requirements.
I would
like, once again, to warmly welcome Your Excellency’s appointment as Federated
States of Micronesia’s first Ambassador to India and wish you every success
in your mission and also further progress and prosperity of the friendly
people of the Federated States of Micronesia.
